Devine Tension Presents "Club Queer". Queer Clubland Cabaret set in the heart of rural Dumfries & Galloway. Under the neon lights of Club Queer, you will be transported to a world of bass-pumping, in-your-face, queer clubland. Packed with outrageously camp drag performance of a variety of styles. Featuring a spectacular line-up of some of the most fabulous queer artists on the drag scene today.

Club Queer began as a passion project. In 2019, after revisiting Dumfries & Galloway in the early years of Devine Tension, Dillon Colthart began the journey of compiling plans for the modern drag scene in Dumfries. Once funds were secured, and after a year and a half long delay due to COVID-19, production for the first ever "Club Queer" event at Chancers Nightclub began.

 

On October 23rd 2021, Club Queer took place with a star-studded lineup including River Medway and Crystal from BBC Three's RuPaul's Drag Race UK. This was a sell out success.

On July 16th 2022, Club Queer returned to Chancers Nightclub with a second sell out success "Club Queer: Lipstick 90s", featuring Vanity Milan from BBC Three's RuPaul's Drag Race UK. This was in co-production with Essex-based production company Pack Productions.

On November 26th 2022, still in co-production with Pack Productions, Club Queer returned to Chancers Nightclub for a third helping of "Club Queer: RAW", which saw the event stripped back with raw energy and raw talent, and a fierce line-up of drag, burlesque and boylesque.

Club Queer, at its core, demonstrated the appetite for an increased queer nightlife culture within rural regions such as Dumfries & Galloway. It demonstrated a sense of community and togetherness within our nightlife culture, which is only possible when heart and soul is poured into the production of such events.
